Our laboratory is located in the heart of the medieval city of Cambridge, 50 miles northeast of London. The first scholars arrived in Cambridge as exiles from Oxford in the year 1209 and in 1326 the Bishop of Ely established the first College in Cambridge, Peterhouse. Somewhat more recently, the Gurdon Institute was founded in 1989. A direct train gets you from Cambridge into the centre of London within 45 minutes. London Stansted Airport, with its cheap airfares to many destination in Europe, is only 35 minutes away.
